G 23 leaders watching state election results as keenly as Gandhis

Amidst reports of further Congress’ decimation coming from all the five poll-bound states, among those watching the poll battle results as keenly as the Gandhis are the group of 23 Congress leaders (popularly identified as G-23 Congress Group) who had written to Sonia Gandhi last year seeking changes in the way the party is being run. None of them were seen anywhere all through the elections in five states.

Congress President election in jeopardy !

If one was to go by the exit poll results, the outcome of the five states that have gone to hustings, may caste a shadow on the election of Congress President in June as decided by the Congress Working Committee (CWC) in January this year. Sonia Gandhi is the interim President of the party ever since Rahul Gandhi stepped down over the Congress's drubbing in the national election in 2019. Even now, the situation does not seem to be any better.  How long will the party remain rudderless ?

DEBATE

Is it justified to allow gatherings at political rallies and religious functions amidst Covid surge ?

Even as Covid cases continue to surge across the country, how far it is justified for the ‘powers that be’ to ignore implementation of Corona norms (restrictions) at political rallies in the poll bound states and religious functions ? Does the deadly virus becomes ineffective at such gatherings ?
