Why is the Congress afraid of electing a full time President ?
The Congress, party insiders say, is afraid of electing a full time President because after a series of poll defeats under his leadership, many in the party may not like Rahul Gandhi to run the show and in getting a leader from outside the Gandhi family runs the risk of disintegration in the party as has been the case on several occasions in the past. But the question is that how long will the party remain rudderless ?

Congratulating the opponents on their electoral victory is a common political etiquette but heaping praise on the rival publicly – as has been the case with G-23 group of Congress leaders - is something unheard of. Showering praises on Mamata Banerjee over her victory, while Ghulam Nabi Azad called her the “Lioness of East”, Kapil Sibal and Manish Tewari described her as a courageous grassroots leader and a modern ‘Jhansi ki Rani’, who has rewritten history. Congress’ flip flop on party’ President’s election
Congress is unable to decide on party’s President elections. First it was announced by the Congress’ interim president Ms. Sonia Gandhi at Congress Working Committee meeting (CWC) that elections for the post of party’s president will be held on June 23 and the decision was also welcomed on twitter by leaders like Sanjay Nirupam but hours later the CWC announced that election for New Congress Chief have been postponed due to COVID

Is it justified to allow gatherings at political rallies and religious functions amidst Covid surge ?
Even as Covid cases continue to surge across the country, how far it is justified for the ‘powers that be’ to ignore implementation of Corona norms (restrictions) at political rallies in the poll bound states and religious functions ? Does the deadly virus becomes ineffective at such gatherings ?
