Why have Sonia and Rahul become aggressive all of a sudden ? Grapevine has it that there has been a change in the attitude of both these leaders because they know that it is mandatory for their survival.

Committed bureaucracy is need of the hour

It is now being felt that committed bureaucracy is need of the hour as has been the case during the days of Late Indira Gandhi. Few however also point out, what happened then ? All went to jail.

Modi alone can’t eliminate corruption  !

No individual, Narendra Modi or anyone can eliminate corruption single handedly.  At the most, Modi can only bring in tough laws and influence people to abide by them by his personal charm, feel surfers of whispersinthecorridors.com who were asked to express their views on – “Will  Modi’s dream of eliminating corruption come true ? “

Terming corruption as one of the greatest challenge, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has few months ago called for special initiatives to end the menace in the next five years with the pledge of  'Karenge Aur Kar Ke Rahenge' (We will do and surely do).

But majority of the surfers who expressed their view said that it was foolish to believe that any one person can eliminate corruption, let alone Modi. While some said that the fight against corruption was not an individual driven fight but more of a systems driven fight which needs improvement in execution and establishment of accountability, others said that Modi has atleast called for eradication of corruption.

“If Modi really wants to eliminate corruption, he has to begin charity at home. He should set an example by taking action against his party and party men in various States facing corruption charges. Different yardsticks for different persons will not yield positive results in the effort of elimination of corruption”.

I'm still in Shimla and today my Respected Friend, a retired Senior Bureaucrat, and me..........we meet at Baljis and over Idlis dipped in Sambar and Coffees we get chatting.

Respected Friend: There is this Political Commentator .....someone who is referred to as Guru....who has studied at Harvard...seems they teach spinning yarns at Harvard..

Me: Ha ha...must be ...I read his yarns... he adds a rebellious twist to Jaitley, Ghadkari and Sushma meeting at Rajnath's place and Enforcer twist to Amit Shah cutting short his Kerala trip and returning to Delhi..

RF: The three met at Rajnath's place to discuss the possibility of a non-BJP Minister in the CCS...as Partymen they had the right to show their discomfort ....with talk of JD (U) and/or JD (U) and outside chance of NCP joining NDA...and their meeting may have had RSS's blessings..who knows...and Amit returning to Delhi ...either the impending breakup of a UP Party ....with one faction wanting to enter BJP or Modi's trip to Gujarat..Modi does not need a mediator between himself and Jaitley....

M: All 4 knew they would not be dropped or their Ministeries changed..Ghadkari had expressed his feelings that he would not like to be shifted.. Sushma is happy with MEA...no way would she like to go to the strenuous MOD... Jaitley had already said that MOD was with him just for a few days very recently...and Rajnath is happy in MOH ..and Amit is not an Enforcer that he'd talk Jaitley into addressing GST complaints/suggestions......   and reducing Petrol Prices..Modi and Jaitley work closely and Modi can speak to him directly..

RF: GST changes were in the works... and reduction of Fuel prices..I think Jaitley was initially pushing for Rs. 1 rebate by Centre via Excise and Rs. 1 reduction by States via VAT...

M: And now we have RaGa giving his pearls of wisdom on GST... there should be just one GST rate PAN-India...

RF: He says whatever is spoon-fed to him....otherwise he would not even know the full form of GST... so as per him the Tax on a Chappal and Fashionable Shoes should be same... tax on a Bulb and LED TV should be the same...India's wide disparity in incomes necessitates such a GST. And every now and then there will be reviewals to ensure GST is not a burden on the Poor.

M: Now Presstitues are saying the Jewellry PAN and PMLA modifications were made to suit Gujarati Jewellers.. .

RF: Jewellers all over India had represented quite some time back when the limit was reduced from 2 lac to 50,000 ... viewing the meagre  buying  power of 50,000 in the Jewellry  business  ...and the tedious job of KYC... they had represented to the Government to revert to the 2 lac limit.

M: Till penetration of PAN  does not improve KYC seems defunct ... how many Indians pay Tax and how many buy Gold ...and how much Gold one can buy for 50,000 ...the answer lies therein..I did not expect MMS would share the stage with alleged Genocide perpetrator Sajjan Kumar..

RF: Why are you surprised... he can give clean chits for blatant corruption.. . he can dedicate India's resources to Muslims ...he is Hukam ka Ghulam.. .if Sonia orders him he will invite Tytler and Sajjan over for dinner and feed them with his own hands...

M: Sad... so sad....but one usually does it for some gain.... what can he expect to gain..in the past he did it to become and stay as PM...

RF: He's taking a one in million bet... if Congress comes to power.. he knows RaGa is unfit to be the PM...and he knows Sonia cannot get a better Puppet than him...and he knows his health will improve.....power makes deadmen alive....

M: And who should know RaGa better than him....maybe he's so desperate to go back because he left something in 7 RCR...

RF: His dill........was his golden cage......got addicted to it......

M: They used to say he's the Right Man in the Wrong Party....now people say he's the Tailor Made Man for Congress or Wrong Party...

We have a good laugh...pay the tab and move out
