Future of Modi ?

On being discussed at a get-together that what was the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s future, the unanimous opinion was that it was bright since he has no personal agenda which, these days, almost, every leader has.

Modi alone can’t eliminate corruption  !

No individual, Narendra Modi or anyone can eliminate corruption single handedly.  At the most, Modi can only bring in tough laws and influence people to abide by them by his personal charm, feel surfers of whispersinthecorridors.com who were asked to express their views on – “Will  Modi’s dream of eliminating corruption come true ? “

Terming corruption as one of the greatest challenge, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has few months ago called for special initiatives to end the menace in the next five years with the pledge of  'Karenge Aur Kar Ke Rahenge' (We will do and surely do).

But majority of the surfers who expressed their view said that it was foolish to believe that any one person can eliminate corruption, let alone Modi. While some said that the fight against corruption was not an individual driven fight but more of a systems driven fight which needs improvement in execution and establishment of accountability, others said that Modi has atleast called for eradication of corruption.

“If Modi really wants to eliminate corruption, he has to begin charity at home. He should set an example by taking action against his party and party men in various States facing corruption charges. Different yardsticks for different persons will not yield positive results in the effort of elimination of corruption”.

Hatchet Job

My College Friend is a Financial Analyst ....and today we meet at a snazzy Coffee Shop in CP....over Macroons and Coffees we get chatting.

Me: What is your expert opinion on the article on Amit Shah's son .....Jay!!

Friend: One word... Baloney.. that journo who penned this article in her last assignment had predicted a total rout for BJP in UP...worth finding out why she left ET...

M: Kindly expound why you say Baloney..

F: The Journalist has no idea about basic Balance Sheet entries.... the article should have been captioned .. .... .....Innuendos galore.... not Golden Touch of Jay!

M: Though I'm no expert but I'd say it looks like a hatchet job..

F: The first innuendo is...no sooner did Modi become PM and Jay's failed business became a overnight success ..fact is Jay was appointed Director in 2015 and the Company then set in place an ambitious plan...having vision and risk taking capacity is no crime!!

M: Don't....Revenues” or “Turnover” refer to total sales or service income. “Profit” or “Loss” refers to such Revenues minus all expenses incurred.

F: Bang on ...the tabulation that the Lady gives very conveniently omits... Turnover in 2012-13 and 2013-14 and Profit/Loss in 2014-2015... the crux of the article is that the turnover jumped 16000 times, hence Jay has the “golden touch”. But would a man with the “golden touch” incur a loss of Rs 1,48,00,551 (Rs 1.48 crores)? As per Registrar of Companies filings which the Journo quoted so much, this company with Rs 80.50 cr revenues, had Rs 81.99 cr as expenses, had incurred a loss of Rs 1.48 crores as soon as Modi came into power.

M: To bolster her innuendos she hid relevant info in following paras. ...how very convenient... provide the info tactfully !!!

F: Other innuendos... 'suddenly stopped business'..'net worth eroded' ..'little abnormal'... all loaded guns...these words intended to show jiggery-pokkery..the Net Worth of the Company in the year the Golden Touch of Jay was supposed to have worked.. from Rs 20 lacs of shareholders’ funds on 31.03.2015, thanks to the “golden touch” year, the networth became negative Rs 77.99 lacs on 31.03.2016.

M: So what you are saying .....Jay Amit Shah had a “golden touch” due to which, his company incurred a loss of Rs 1.48 crores as soon as Modi came into power, ended up with a negative net worth of Rs 77.99 lacs, and shut down business activities. What a “golden touch"!

M: What about the loans raised... she makes a lot of hullabaloo...

F: One tranche of loan was given by a NBFC..KFIC... the revenue of this NBFC is 7 crores and loan was 15.78 crores... before you cry mismatch ...please note this example...for example, Bajaj Finance , which is one of India’s biggest NBFCs had Rs 9977 crores Revenue vs Rs 57,683 crores of loans given for March 2017 i.e. Loans were almost 6 times more than revenues. Then Kusum Finserve was not a loan but a LC. The IREDA was a loan to set up a 2.1 MW Wind Energy Plant..and IREDA has set norms for granting loans.

F: So no impropriety was done ... and no default as the loans were repaid. This case cannot be compared to the Jamai Raja  or Raja of Good Times cases !!!

M: This may have been the reason why Amit Shah returned to Delhi cutting short his Kerala trip..  he guards his reputation zealously...must have double and treble checked for any impropriety ... after all Businessmen can sometimes throw caution to the wind and cut corners ...younger they are ..more are the chances!

F: Well this article... Innuendos Galore .... is really out and out a poor hatchet  job......

M: Chalo now Kejri has company ...though in Comparision to this one his case is pittance ....

F: Looks like The Wire is in for short circuiting ........100 cr rewiring....
