India celebrates 75th Republic Day this year

The nation will celebrate Republic Day on January 26, 2022. This year’s Republic Day falls in the 75th year of India’s Independence. Countrymen will see many firsts during the main Parade on Rajpath on January 26 as also during the “Beating the Retreat” ceremony on January 29. MoD and Ministry of Culture are organising ‘Kala Kumbh’. Apart from Delhi, Scroll paintings will be installed in Bhubneshwar and Chandigarh also. As per MoD Note, this year the Republic Day parade will begin at 10.30 am instead of 10 am to provide better visibility to the parade and fly past.

Former Army Chief J J Singh joins BJP

Former Army Chief Gen J J Singh has joined the BJP. Gen J J Singh is the second Army chief after Gen VK Singh who has joined the BJP.

Suspension of international passengers services extended

 The Government of India has extended the suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger services to/from India till February 28, 2022.

Tenure of National Commission for Safai Karamcharis extended  

The tenure of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) has been extended for three years beyond March 31, 2022.
