Amit Shah has hard task ahead; old formulas won’t work

Gujarat Assembly polls are a testing ground for BJP National President Amit Shah in an environment where voter’s mindset is very hard to gauge. Old formulas surely won’t work for the party as big promises would mean nothing. It’s more of a ‘outcome’ based poll environment where one would gain from what’s done on the ground and not really what the party would promise to do in the next five years. Clearly, Gujarat is actually the beginning of a poll battle for national parties for ‘Mission 2019’!!

How many CM claimants in HP?

Himachal Pradesh is going to vote for assembly elections in November but there are number of CM claimants. According to sources Congress has declared one candidate - Virbhadra Singh. Though BJP hasn't declared any candidate but if sources are to be believed it has four claimants - Shanta Kumar, JP Nadda, Ram Lal and Prem Prakash Dhumal. But finally High Command will decide.

Congress does not need too many alliances to fight polls

It was learnt that the Communist Party of India (CPM) in West Bengal is not keen on having an alliance with the Congress party for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. With the leadership of Rahul Gandhi expected as AICC President soon, the Congress party needs to look less at a host of alliances and more on strengthening its own regional outfits with a strong local leadership which can launch sustained poll campaigns well ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in the previous form will not work for the party as the BJP has changed the dynamics of contesting polls. Short term poll strategies would be a recipe for disaster which the BJP is also understanding right now.

Mandir…..

During my evening walk around CP (Connaught Place) I happen to meet my Travel Agent and he invites me for a Cuppa in his Office. Over Coffee and Desi Aata Biscuits we get chatting.

Me: They say Tourism is the real engine for Jobs..

Travel Agent: Without a doubt ....both directly and indirectly...

M: Our diversity ...our History ....our Natural Beauty should be attracting Tourists in multitudes...

TA: We should take a page from Goras... like Downtown there will be a tall building that they  convert into a tourist attraction....see their Zoos....we are still in the 19th Century where Tourism is concerned...

M: What about the Statue of Unity....the Sardar Patel Statue..

TA: I would have hoped that Government spent 200 cr on the Patel Statue...and 3000 cr on Maryada Purshotom Complex... Statue..Mandir...Hotel... Convention Hall... Open Air Theatre where 3 D Ramayan Katha would be done everyday... a Medical College... State of the Art Gaushala.... so what if its not on the Ram Mandir Site.... a Deity is not bound by  geography ...if it is then its not a Deity...

M: Here be like Leela Purshotum

....Krishan Maharaj ji would have thought out of the box....that's a form of Leela. As and when Court decides make a Mandir there too...

TA: So the SC Order has not been able to bring down the Pollution levels in Delhi...

M: Chandigarh I hear chose a pragmatic way.. and it seems to have worked... restricted hours for bursting crackers....certain crackers  banned... and very controlled cracker sales...

TA: Now hope the Court looks into the real causes of Pollution 363 days!! I was reading about some serious charges against Jamai Raja ...has he responded!!

M: The News Channel that broke this Story sent him a Questionaire... in response he sent his Son with a Box of Mithai for the Channel's Reporter who was on a Vigil Duty outside his Home..

TA: Are you serious..or they feel they are The Untouchables ....no one will even dare..

M: Now I expect the anti Modi lot to raise his wearing a Army Jacket in Gurez...then why Gurez...

TA: The heartburn is directly proportional to these type of issues raised...

M: One stupid fellow even posted a pic and asked why amongst Faujis did Modi need SPG..SPG procedures were/are not mandated by Modi....they go by the Blue Book....

TA: Thank God Modi is not like Maya .... her statues are an eye sore.

M: Though his Statues would get Visitors because of his popularity... the only Visitors Maya's Statues get are winged ones and all leave their 'calling cards'..

We have a good laugh and I exit his Office and resume my walk.
