R S Secretariat will conduct Presidential Elections

The Rajya Sabha Secretariat has started the process of conducting the Presidential Election. The President election is held by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariat one by one. Now, this is the turn of Rajya Sabha.

Why Def Expo-2022 postponed?

The postponement of the Defence Expo - 2022 at the eleventh hour is talk of the corridors. There are two theories floating. One says two countries reportedly expressed inability to share the stall with Russia. The other says that since Russia is facing a number of sanctions. In such a situation the country may be forced to procure maximum weapons from Moscow. To avoid such a situation the Government decides to postpone the event. The Expo was to start in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Does the country requires several investigative agencies to deal with economic offences ?

The buzz around is that “CDS” like post - as in Defence  - is in the offing to have a control over all the agencies dealing in economic offences. They include CBI, ED, DRI,CEI and FIU. The Modi Government  had already surprised the defence services by creating the post of “CDS”. Will it be fruitful ?
