Sonia Gandhi may not face ED on June 23

As per available indications, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi may not join the ED probe. Sources said that she is still not fully recovered from COVID.

Kamal Nath – the most important and trusted leader in Congress!

Kamal Nath appears to be the most important and trusted leader in the Congress party. This became once again evident on Tuesday when the Congress President Ms Sonia Gandhi deputed him as All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer in the wake of recent political developments in Maharashtra. Generally, such decisions are taken by the AICC.

The Congress shares power with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra. The decision came soon after reports that some Shiv Sena MLAs led by dissident leader Eknath Shinde are camping in Gujarat and could pose a threat to the ruling MVA government. Congress fears that a group of around 10 MLAs, might also switch sides, say sources.

DEBATE

Will it be Rahul Gandhi versus Narendra Modi in 2024 parliamentary polls ?

Given the fact that the Congress and the rest of the opposition are unlikely to join hands to face the ruling BJP and a recent survey claiming that here has been a steep downfall in the polularity ratings of both Ms. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, is there any possibility of Lok Sabha 2024 elections being a direct contest between Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi, as the Congress party claims.
