Back in cold-cold Shimla and I meet my respected friend, Retired Senior Bureaucrat,  at our favorite Samosa ....Jalebi and tea joint and over these favorites we get chatting.

Me: Don't  you feel there are internal contradictions in tne Caste alliance Congress has stitched up for Gujarat Elections!!

Respected Friend: First Hardik and Mevani are still non commital about allying with Congress... only Alpesh has rejoined Congress!!

M: But all of them don't want the other to get reservation..

RF: While Harik demands that Patidars should be included in the OBC Category , Alpesh's take is Patidars should not be given reservation. And then as it is the demands of both cannot be met as any additional Quota has been stopped by Court.

M: Exactly...and then Patidars and OBCs are considered by Dalits as their tormentors...and exploiters...they can never be seen together on any single Political Platform..

RF: With Congress so ardously wooing the Patidars the OBCs will naturally be averse to this and will look towards BJP..

M: I think to bring all aboard you need a strong and committed Leader like Modi....and in the past KHAM was an antidote for Patidars...so its a total hotch-potch...

RF: Congress is muddled...I think it'll be a miracle if Congress even crosses 40...and nearing the election whatever has been stitched in the form of an alliance will 'tear up'!!!

M: Hear RaGa met some FII Managers ....Capital International, HSBC, Rowe Price, Dutch Pension Fund  and Jupiter Capital were among those who had an hour-long meeting with... what do you think they discussed..

RF: Maybe how should he invest Rs. 3820 of the 4000 he withdrew post Demonitization.. 160 he spent on his recent US trip!!! And Rs. 20 for out of pocket expenses...like Dog Food and Biscuits for Pidhi...

M: Ha Ha..... its all being done to bolster his image.... using the pic Congis are saying... see out Baba is talking economics .... he's not a dodo!

RF: Yup ..... this is for sure he just added these Managers to the list of those who feel he's unfit to be a Leader....

M: NY Times showing the rise of the Saree in India is because Fashion has become a Nationalist Cause...

RF: Yup... read it... stopped short of terming it as rise of Hinduvta... both NYT and WSJ suffer from a Modi allergy.... don't know why!!

M: Could be The Church  ....its also not too happy with Modi..

RF: RaGa calls this Government ....Suit Boot ki Sarkaar ...NYT has its own take on Saree... actually 13 years as CM and 3 1/2 years as PM.... and 0 corruption... so they have to cook up issues to  attack Modi ...his Attire...his Degree ... his Marital Status and his English...

M: Sir getting dark ...lets go. joke for the road... if Kejri wants Amrinder to respond to his call he should use a Paki Number ...he will respond immediately..

We have a good laugh ..pay the tab and move out.

Survey – Who can revive the Congress ? 

Congress revival hinges on Nehru Gandhi family

The Congress, run by the Nehru-Gandhis as a dynastic behemoth, is facing a leadership crisis like never before. The fears that the party may fragment without a dynastic head also cannot be discounted as only a member of Nehru Gandhi family can bring ‘Some Unity among Congress leaders’ so vital for the revival of the Congress.

Looking at the present state the Congress party is in, Whispersinthecorridors.com tried to elicit the views of its surfers on – Who can revive the Congress ? – and though different people had different opinion and gave the names of several leaders other than those from the Nehru-Gandhi family, one thing which majority of them felt was that UNITY was the first requirement for the revival of the Congress.

And since Unity among Congress leaders - which alone can turn the tables in the next elections - will be totally extinct in the absence of a ‘Gandhi’, only a member of Nehru Gandhi family can revive the Congress party.
