BJP will equal Left Front record if it wins in Gujarat

If the Bharatiya Janata Party wins the Gujarat elections this time it will equal the record of the Left Front in West Bengal. The Left Front won Bengal assembly polls seven times consecutively. It won for the first time in 1977 and then it did not look back. In 2011 it was defeated by the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress. The BJP has been in power in Gujarat for 27 years and if it wins it will be forming the government for the seventh time in a row in the state and equal the Left Front record.
