Political observers say instead of CPI (M) the next election in West Bengal would be fought between the TMC and the BJP.

Deepa Dasmunshi says no to BJP ?

Former Union Minister Deepa Dasmunshi has reportedly said “No” to join the BJP. She was being wooed by the BJP to join the party and become the CM of West Bengal. She  continues to be in the Congress party.

Uma Bharti and clean Ganga

Union Minister Uma Bharti at a function in Delhi has reportedly said that if Ganga is not cleaned by 2018 she will sit on dharna at the bank of Sangam. Nitin Gadkari was present in the function who is presently the minister of Water Resources and Ganga Rejuvenation. The former Water Resources and Ganga Rejuvenation Minister, Bharti is now minister of Drinking water and Sanitation. Observers see it a massage to Gadkari or the PM.

Bail In....

Seated in the Mumbai Airport's Departure Lounge....nursing my second cup of coffee...the flight is delayed and I get chatting with a gentleman seated next to me. He is a Activist who takes up issues related to the Finance Sector.

Me: Delayed again...and the winter foggy season has not even set in..

Activist: Maybe getting us prepared... ha ha...and now Passegers are scared of questioning  Ground Staff

..pataa nahi kabh maar padh jaye...

M: What's all the 'Bail in' talk regarding Banks....the FRDI Bill..

A: They've  adopted the Cyprus model... if it goes through...say if the condition of a Bank detoriates the Resolution Corporation could cancel the Bank's Liability or the Bank could be authorised to convert your Deposits to Shares...

M: So if it goes through ....your money will not be safe in Banks..

A: Absolutely ... a Depositer when he or she makes a Deposit is totally unaware of the Bank's exposure and current financial condition... so basically you would be going into a totally blind alley...

M: So they want to resolve the NPAs by breaking our backs...why can't they emulate the Depositer friendly steps by overseas Banks... why all the negative ones...

F: The Ministry Officials paint a rosy picture saying the eventuality of not paying or converting Deposits would  be an extreme rarity..

M: Its like giving people who are irresponsible with OPM...Other People's Money..a loaded gun..  getting them to point it at us..and assuring us ...no no they won't use it..

F: See the NPAs ...mostly all cases...with conivance of Bank Officials ... and during UPA days also Netas...how many conniving  Bank Officials  have faced/are facing the music for their actions....we pay up for thrir corruption...

M: Sometimes I feel someone should tell Modi... uttna humme khilao jitna humm puchchaa leh and not start vomiting ..third rate regulation... corrupt Bank Officials .... the FRDI would have been okay had the Banking system been upto the mark .. but its simply pathetic...

F: If you ask Jaitley he will give you an argument that will justify this Bill and make it look as if its your Patriotic Duty to fall in line...

M: And if some Congi FM had done this.....he'd have termed it as an act of Treason on Depositors and likened it to Emergency in the Banking Sector...

F: Maybe via this step they want Depositors to look at investing in the Primary and Secondary...Markets....MFs...because if the Bill goes through the risk perception of Bank Deposits will rocket..

M: Will it go through....

F: If 'Unelected Wonder'Jaitley has his way it will... if PM Modi who is preparing to face a Mega Battle in 2019 has his way... it won't!!

M: Jaitley is not a Economist ...he's a Lawyer... he has his Advisors .... his aim is to go down in History as the FM who brought about revolutionary changes... he has a running competition with PC... why do you think PC had lamented... only if he was the FM in a majority Government and not a Coalition Government...though in honesty perception...Jaitley vs PC..Jaitley wins handsdown...

F: Modi's objective is pushing through whatever is Pro People and Pro Nation...

M: And BJP winning elections post Demo and GST means Public feels these steps were in their and Nation's interest!!

F: Coming back to FRDI Bill... as Jaitley is hell bent on penalizing Depositors for Banks frivilous and irresponsible acts he might as well levy a Rs 1 NPA Cess on Fuel and get over with it..

M: Yup NPAs start getting wiped out... Banks go about creating more NPAs and Jaitley gets a A+ on his Report Card for solving the NPA problem... albeit temporarily...

What will be the political scenario in the country after 2019 general elections ?

General elections in the country are more than a year away though, political discussions regarding the scenario in 2019 Lok Sabha polls have already started with many saying that BJP be given another chance. We invite views of our surfers on the probable scenario after next LS polls – Will it be a repeat of 2014 or will the Congress reemerge or will there be a rise of some new political force (coalition minus the BJP and the Congress).
