Possession begins at last stalled Amrapali Project Phase-I; NBCC turns challenges into smiles UPDATED
Greater Noida: In a major step towards resolving the long-pending Amrapali housing crisis, 51 homebuyers received NOCs and possession letters at Leisure Valley Adarsh Awas Yojana in Tech Zone IV, Greater Noida West, on October 23, 2026.
R. Venkataramani, Attorney General for India and Court Receiver (Amrapali), and Dr. K.P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director of NBCC (India) Limited, handed over the documents, paving the way for the homebuyers to receive their keys. Adarsh Awas Yojana was the last stalled Amrapali project where the handover process had not begun. With this development, all stalled Amrapali projects being completed by NBCC under Supreme Court supervision have started delivering homes.
The ceremony was attended by Ravi Bhatia and D.K. Mishra, Members of the Court Committee (Amrapali); Dr. Suman Kumar, Director (Commercial), NBCC; officers from the Court Receiver’s office and ASPIRE; senior NBCC officials; members of the Ad hoc Apartment Owners’ Association; and homebuyers and their families.
Spread over 5.1 acres, the project comprises eight towers with 1,904 apartments and facilities including a clubhouse, swimming pool, sports courts, gymnasium and children’s play area.
NBCC has completed around 35,000 of the 37,250 residential units under Phase 1, with approximately 23,700 handed over to buyers. Construction of around 8,200 units under Phase 2, involving additional floor area ratio (FAR), is progressing and is expected to be completed in 2028.
Despite funding constraints, rising construction costs and COVID-19 disruptions, NBCC has executed work worth approximately ₹13,000 crore as of September 30, 2026. The revival has also generated substantial employment and government revenue, helping restore confidence in the Noida and Greater Noida housing market.
