A three-day national event, “Pranam! Udant Martand,” will begin on May 8, at Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal to celebrate 200 years of Hindi journalism. The programme is being jointly organised by the Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication and Veer Bharat Nyas, and will continue till May 10. The event will bring together noted journalists, scholars, filmmakers, and media experts from across the country for discussions on journalism, Indian culture, and national thought. The inaugural session will be addressed by Acharya Mithileshnandini Sharan, while Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh and filmmaker Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi will speak in special sessions. One of the highlights of the programme will be an exhibition tracing the 200-year journey of Hindi journalism. Live cartooning by senior cartoonists, book releases, student documentaries, and special editions of university newspapers will also be part of the celebration. Cultural performances and the “Bharat Swabhiman – Naga Sadhu Knowledge Repository Exhibition” will add to the attraction of the event.
