Prasar Bharti is a house of deputationists

Prasar Bharti Corporation of India is a house of deputationists. At present the PB has 79 officials  from ADG to Assistants on deputation. Among these are 10 ADGs. Deputationists are mainly from the Ministry of Communication, Army, Paramilitary forces, Competition Commission of India, CSS and other small departments. This was the strength till June 20 this year. Presently DGs posts are vacant. DG, DD was on deputation but DG, AIR was a cadre officer. According to sources this pathetic situation arises because PB could not frame its service rules during the last 24 years. Now the Service Recruitment Board has been constituted. And that is the reason DD and AIR has failed to make a reach among the society.
