Prashant Kumar Singh ahead in race for Chief Secretary, Manipur

After central deputation appointment of Vineet Joshi, Chief Secretary of Manipur, as Secretary, Higher Education Department, all eyes are on the appointment of new Chief Secretary of Manipur.  Names of three IAS officers of the cadre: Prashant Kumar Singh (1993 batch); Vivek Kumar Dewangan (1993 batch); Rajesh Agarwal (1994 batch) are in circulation. Prashant Kumar Singh, presently Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, is being bandied around as a strong contender for the post. The new Chief Secretary is expected for seamless coordination with the new Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
