R N Jha - a victim of circumstance; deprived of being CMD

Rabindra Nath  Jha, Director (Technical), MECL, has been a victim of circumstance and deprived of being Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL). He was selected for the CMD post by PESB on July 9, 2015, but the extension to present incumbent Dr Gopal Dhawan for two years queered his pitch. Jha was also selected for the post of Director (Technical), Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL) on August 23, 2017, but did not join. He was endowed with an additional charge of CMD after the expiration of tenure of Dr Dhawan. Jha has been given an extension to the post of Director Technical till January 2020. However, he has grace years upto August 31, 2023 to grab desired postings at Board level in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
