The Ministry of Railways has announced its participation in the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025 for the recruitment of officers into the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS). This marks a significant change, as recruitment for IRMS will now be conducted through both the Civil Services Examination (CSE) and ESE. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has granted in-principle approval for the recruitment. The Ministry has requested the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to issue an addendum to the existing ESE 2025 notification, extending the application deadline, which is currently set for October 8, 2024. A total of 225 vacancies are expected across various engineering disciplines, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and S&T. The syllabus will remain as notified for ESE 2025 to ensure a streamlined process for candidates.
