Rajiv Kumar to be CEC but not Pandey

After the retirement of Sushil Chandra, 1984 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre Rajiv Kumar will be Chief Election Commissioner next year. Incidentally, A C Pandey will not become CEC. Reason Pandey retires on feb 15, 2024 Rajiv Kumar will retire on Feb 19,2025. Pandey will have a little under three years in office. It means Lok Sabha elections will be held under Rajiv Kumar but Pandey will retire before elections.
