Record tax collection by Property Tax Department, NDMC

Property Tax Deptt in NDMC is performing very well consistently since last three years. Tax collection has increased from Rs 380 crore in year 2015 to Rs 711 crore in financial year 2017-18.

The tax collection was Rs 481 crore in 2016 and 577 crore in financial year 2016-17. It is not easy to decide assessment cases in NDMC area where influential persons , senior advocates , retired top bureaucrats , politicians , businesses families reside.

It is outstanding performance by Deptt headed by  a soft spoken a CSS officer Murari sharma since last three  years who enjoy remarkable confidence among tax payers of area on account of his impeccable integrity and no nonsense approach .  More than 11000 notices pending since last 10-15 years have been decided by Deptt in last three years resulting into huge outstanding recovery . NDMC has not increased tax rate in last three years and No coercive action was taken this year on account of pending litigation in Supreme Court on Bye - Laws 2009.
