Sanjay Kumar Verma, currently posted as Additional Secretary (Administration & Cyber Diplomacy) in the Ministry of External Affairs, will in all probability be the next Indian Ambassador to Japan. It was learnt that the PMO had reportedly cleared his name. He is an IFS officer of 1987 batch. Incumbent Sujan Chinoy who retired last month was retained for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Japan.
