The three-month preventive vigilance campaign was inaugurated today on 20 August 2024 at SECL headquarters by CVO Coal India Brajesh Kumar Tripathi. The program organized at the headquarters was presided over by CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra. The theme of this year's preventive vigilance campaign, which will run from 16 August 2024 to 15 November 2024, is "Culture of integrity for the nation’s prosperity". This year the campaign focuses on 5 key areas which include capacity building, systemic improvements, updating manuals / circulars etc., settlement of complaints received before 30 June 2024 and digital presence. In the meeting, the chief guest, Coal India CVO Brajesh Kumar Tripathi praised SECL for the achievements made in many areas including coal production in the last 2 years. While discussing this year's vigilance campaign, he said that it is very important for us to focus on the training of officers and employees. Lack of knowledge of any law cannot be an excuse for violating that law. We all have to ensure that our workplace remains corruption-free. During this, Tripathi also administered the integrity promise to all to work honestly at the workplace. Dr Mishra, who was chairing the program, called upon the team SECL to make this year's preventive vigilance campaign a success by being a part of it with full devotion. He asked everyone to perform their duties with full honesty, with team spirit, while being loyal to the Naam, Namak and Nishan of the company. Earlier, at the beginning of the program, the CMD administered the oath of integrity to everyone. During the programme, through a powerpoint presentation, Tripathi was also informed in detail about the functioning of SECL and the IT measures being implemented in the company. In program Director Technical (Operations) SN Kapri, Director Technical (Project & Planning) Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Personnel) Biranchi Das, Director (Finance) D Sunil Kumar, General Manager (Vigilance) Prakash Chandra, heads of various departments, AGMs (through VC) officers and employees were present in the programme. After the main event, Coal India CVO Brajesh Kumar Tripathy held a meeting with the officers of SECL Vigilance Department and took stock of the activities of the department. He also discussed about the management and implementation of this year's vigilance campaign and gave necessary guidelines.
