Secretary, DPE visits Slovenia

Secretary Department of Public Enterprises Mrs Seema Bahuguna visited Slovenia for three days. Slovenia is a tiny country in the European Union where all public enterprises have been privatised. Its capital Ljubljana is the seat of International Center for Promotion of Enterprises of which India is a member. The Center was dormant and bankrupt till 2015 when it was revived after election of Dr Anand Asthana (Retd IAS MP 76) as the Director General. Now the centre has developed as a think tank and is training officers from the level of Section Officer to the level of Secretary to Government of India. Mrs Bahuguna released a thematic issue of revived academic journal 'Public Enterprise' focussing on Service Innovation and Service Quality in the Public Sector. Later she presided over the closing ceremony of programme on Budgeting Accounting and Financial Management. Director of India's National Institute of Financial Management, Mrs Meena Agarwal (IRAS Retd 1981)and Indian Ambassador to Slovenia Param Jit Mann (IFS 1987) also met the Secretary at the Centre.
