Secretary MEA to contest Lok Sabha polls ?

The seniormost Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (after the Foreign Secretary) Dnyaneshwar Mulay (IFS 1983) who is retiring this month will enter politics on the day of his retirement and contest Lok Sabha election from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He has parried the queries in a diplomatic manner: “As far as the question of me contesting the 2019 polls goes, I’m neither affirming nor denying anything as of now”. There are two parliamentary constituencies in Kolhapur district (Kolhapur and Hatkanangle) and Mulay is confident of winning from either of them.
