In August 2025, the Union Cabinet approved four new semiconductor manufacturing projects worth approximately Rs 4,594 crore (US$550 million) under the India Semiconductor Mission, located in Odisha, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh. These include initiatives by SiCSem, Continental Device India Ltd (CDIL), 3D Glass Solutions, and Advanced Micro Devices, bringing the total approved projects to 10 with investments exceeding US$18 billion, boosting self-reliance in silicon carbide and 3D glass technologies.
