Supreme Court pushes CAPF cadre review

The Supreme Court observed that the Centre had not complied with its earlier directions concerning cadre review of the Central Armed Police Forces. It directed the cadre review panel to submit its proposal for approval by 30 November 2026. The Court also sought details of IPS deputations in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB up to the Senior Administrative Grade. The Supreme Court's latest intervention puts cadre restructuring, seniority, promotion opportunities and the distribution of senior command positions under renewed scrutiny. This could have implications for both cadre officers and IPS officers serving on deputation.
