Surprise posting in Geneva as counsellor

Foreign postings of non-IFS civil servants were always sought after. It was never a secret that these involved lot of lobbying and have always been seen as "reward" postings. However, posting of Aashish Chandorkar as Counsellor in PMI, Geneva has taken this a step further. Chandorkar is a reporter and biographer of Devendra Fadnavis - with two books on him - one in English and one in Marathi. He is very active on social media and a known BJP sympathiser.  Interestingly, this post was advertised only for officers with certain mandatory qualifications. In this background, this posting has evoked lot of reactions in the bureaucracy.
