The Delhi Police is conducting a survey of Northeast people living in the national capital Delhi. The Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Police Unit for North East Region, New Delhi, PN Khrimey, while talking to the Whispers In The Corridors informed that the entire exercise is in order to ensure better policing and their safety and security. In a communication, the Delhi Police urged people from the Northeastern region, Gorkhas from Darjeeling and those belonging to Ladakh residing in the national capital for providing information about themselves. ‘After collecting information, we may form WhatsApp group of the prominent persons of Northeast for the immediate communication’, he informed. ‘No specific data are being maintained by any agency or organisation and we’re precisely doing the same’, he added. The Special Police Unit for North East Region (SPUNER) has urged them to furnish information. A good number of people from Northeast live in various areas of the national capital, including Kishangarh, Munirka, Mukharjee Nagar and others.
