Sushil Chandra is second IRS officer to hold the key post of CEC

1980 batch IRS (IT) officer Sushil Chandra is second IRS officer to hold the post of Chief Election Commissioner. He is 1980 batch former IRS officer. Earlier Taruvai Subayya Krishnamurthy, also a former Indian Revenue Service officer, had served as 13th Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India (February 2004 - May 2005. Krishnamurthy was also Chairman CBDT and Secretary Department of Company Affairs (Then company affairs, rechristened as Corporate Affairs now).
