Total strength of Indian Administrative Service at a glance

Central Deputation Reserve (CDR) is 1459, while Senior Duty posts are 3671 and State Deputation Reserve (SDR) is 907. Similarly, junior posts and leave reserve are 594; training reserve 115; direct recruitment 4682; promotional posts 2064; total strength 6746. Actual in position is: direct recruit     3787; promotee 1444; total 5231. There total senior duty post 3671+state deputation reserve 907  amounts to 4578 and same is complete occupied so no post is unfilled in state cadre. Central deputation reserve is 1459 and vacancy is only 540 at Deputy Secretary/ Director level, 390 at Joint Secretary, 110 at Additional Secretary and 80 at Secretary level so total comes to 1120 and CDR is 1459-1120= 339 so these 339 will be adjusted if we complete strength of 6746 that too if we don't allow any officers from any services to come in Government of India under central staffing scheme.
