Trade bodies petition PMO over business losses caused by protests. Will Capital Bureaucracy Act?

In response to escalating economic friction, major business chambers and trade organizations—including the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and various prominent regional market associations—have collectively written to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and multiple central ministries. Their joint appeals underline that continuous demonstrations, sudden blockades, and prolonged political rallies in the national capital severely paralyze daily commerce, retail trade, and supply chains impacting small, marginal and big traders and entrepreneurs.

Consequently, these key trade bodies have urgently requested the central government to formulate proactive administrative frameworks. They advocate for shifting large-scale demonstrations to designated peripheral venues, ensuring that the constitutional right to protest coexists harmoniously with the economic vitality and operational continuity of India's national capital.
