Amit Varadan and Dr Nalin Shinghal are the same batch mate of Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS). Both belong to 1988 batch. Amit Varadan is Joint Secretary in the Department of Heavy Industry on deputation and Government Nominee Director on the Board of BHEL, while Dr Nalin Shinghal will chair the board of meeting as CMD of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).
