Two women officers at height of powers in new regime too in Maharashtra

No matter who takes on the mantle of Chief Ministership, two women officers will continue ruling Maharashtra in the new regime too. A 1987 batch IAS officer, Sujata Saunik was appointed Chief Secretary of Maharashtra in July, 2024, while Rashmi Shukla was recently reinstated as Director General of Police as she was removed by the Election Commission. She was first appointed as DGP in January 2024. If all goes well, both female incumbents appointed in Shinde Shiv Sena Government will further continue in the new regime of BJP led-Mahayuti.
