Unified Pension Scheme

Implemented from April 1, 2025, the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) for central government employees under the National Pension System (NPS) offers guaranteed benefits like assured pensions, family pensions, and minimum pensions, blending OPS-like security with NPS flexibility. By July 2025, over 31,000 employees had opted in, with eligibility extended to new recruits, aiming to enhance retirement security.
