Union Budget 2027-28 preps begin; pre-Budget meetings from Oct 12

The government has begun preparations for the Union Budget 2027-28. The pre-Budget meetings are scheduled to begin on October 12, 2026, while ministries and departments have been directed to furnish the required information by October 6.The budget exercise is expected to remain aligned with the government’s broader objective of building a developed India by 2047.
