UP cadre IPS officer Ms Laxmi Singh not just a pretty face

A 2000 batch IPS officer of UP cadre, Ms Laxmi Singh presently serving IG, Lucknow range, has been awarded ' Mukhyamantri Utkrisht Seva Police Padak' in Uttar Pradesh. The firebrand IPS officer is known for the encounters of dreaded criminals and dacoits in the State. She was chosen as best probationer during training at Hyderabad with the Prime Minister awarding her with silver baton and a 9 MM pistol by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The officer transformed the system and infrastructure wherever she was posted. She served as SP/SSP in Banaras, Chitrakut, Gonda, Farrukhabad, Bagpat, Bulandshahar. She is also known for giving a new look for police training school Meerut as Centre of Excellence.
