Title story deals with 'housing' problems of birds in fast urbanizing cities. The book is based on premise that in this universe, earth is 'Home' not only of human beings, but also of birds, animals and plants. In this house we have to live in such a way that descendants of all of us, including birds, animals and plants can also live. Earth is not of present generation only but also of all those who will be born here for thousands of years in the future. We are all 'global trustees' only. Everyone's each action is important and has either a good or bad effect on our environment and home, Earth.
Dr. Jain, as District Magistrate Kanpur, had initiated a movement of environment sensitization by cleaning Ganga Ghats herself in 2000. She formed a 'Children's Environmental Army' in which more than 75 schools of Kanpur and 100,000 students were associated. She later made a short film 'Our Earth Our Home' which was first screened by UNESCO and then at many international/ national educational seminars and schools. It is also suggested as a resource by CBSE.
