Varun Kapoor adds yet another feather to his cap; awarded for cyber security capacity building

Varun Kapoor, a 1991 batch IPS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been awarded once again with a national level award in the field of ‘Cyber Security Capacity Building’. The latest award has been given by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in their Homeland Security Summit 2018. This summit is held jointly by the FICCI & Vivekanand International Foundation.  The Award named SMART Policing Award was presented to Kapoor in a glittering ceremony at the Federation House New Delhi by the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs of the Government of India Vijay Goyal on May 31, 2018. With this award Kapoor has received the best and the highest national level awards in this all important and challenging field of Cyber Security. He received the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) Award in 2015. This was followed by the Internet & Mobile Association (IAMAI) Award in January 2018 and now the FICCI SMART Policing Award in May 2018. Consequently he is today considered a leading luminary in the field of cyber security and one who has contributed immensely in spreading the message against cyber crime in society and bringing about awareness in the citizenry as well as equipping the police force from across the country to tackle and battle this menace.
