What happens to GMs of merging banks with a year of residual service?

While there is no VRS plan for merging public sector banks, the general managers from merging banks with just a year of residual service may somehow pass their time in the tenure to retire normally or apply for VRS as a special case as they are unlikely to get a key role in the new system.
