Recently appointed India’s Ambassador to United States Harsh Vardhan Shringla - the 1984 batch Indian Foreign Service officer is being seen as a future leader of India’s Diplomatic Corps in the PMO with likelihood of being made India’s next Foreign Secretary. His recent appointment as Ambassador to United States is being seen in the diplomatic circles as a step towards appointment him the next Foreign Secretary who had been assigned the task of further improving bilateral relations with the United States before being made Foreign Secretary. The Whispers on his possible appointment as next Foreign Secretary had been doing rounds since June 2018.
