Notification for retirement of Amulya Patnaik as Delhi Police Commissioner issued on Jan 14

Search for new Commissioner of Police, Delhi starts

According to sources, search for new Chief of Delhi Police has reportedly started. Amulya Patnaik, CP Delhi is scheduled to retire in January next year. Sources said that Delhi Assembly elections are due in February next year and ECI is likely to announce the election schedule in the middle of December this year. In that scenario, new CP is likely to be appointed before the code of conduct is imposed.

After Policemen protest against assault on the force in Delhi. Sources said that Amulya Patnaik, CP is likely to be transferred. It is said that during the protest agitators raised slogans against the CP, which reportedly disturbed high ups in the govt.
