Relief package for MSMEs ready, likely to be announced soon
Much awaited relief package for MSMEs is said to be ready. Union Cabinet is expected to approve the stimulus. After the Cabinet nod, the government is likely to announce the relief package for MSME to act as shot in the arm of those badly hit by the lockdown following COVID outbreak.
UP abolishes allowances on May 12

UP govt to abolish six allowances?
UP govt has reportedly decided to to do away with six allowances given to state govt employees. These includes - City Compensatory Allowance, Secretariat allowance and special allowance to JEs. By abolishing these six allowances, the state govt could save Rs 1500 crores annually. Orders in this regard are likely to be issued within a day or two.

What will be fate of Lockdown?
Will lockdown end or will it be extended for at least a fortnight ? According to available indication, now many state govts want that lockdown should be extended till May 31, but some states are in favour of lifting it on May 17. Sources said that the Centre wants more relaxation with some riders so that economic activities could step up. Centre is likely to give this responsibility to CMs . They can decide about the lockdown for their state.
