Himachal Pradesh - reeling under severe financial crunch - has decided against the induction of fresh IAS and IPS officers. The state has a sanctioned strength of 153 IAS, 94 IPS and 114 Indian Forest Service officials. The state has the population of approximately 70 lakh. However, how long the state will not induct these officials is still unclear. Due to severe shortage of funds, the state has even delayed salary disbursement.
