Who will be the new DGP of West Bengal ?

Senior-most IPS officer, Manoj Malviya, is said to be the front-runner for the post of DGP of West Bengal. A 1986 batch IPS officer Malviya has reportedly backing of Rajiv Kumar, trusted officer of CM Mamta Banerjee. Two 1987 batch IPS officers Suman Bala Sahoo and Neeraj Nayan Pandeye are also strong contenders.  If Suman Bala Sahoo is appointed, she would be the first woman Director General of Police of West Bengal. Neeraj Nayan Pandeye is also a likely choice of the CM because of his low-profile .The present DGP Veerendra retires on August 31.
