Why DD is not able to compete with pvt channels ?

During a review meeting in Delhi on Sunday, Prakash Javdekar, MIB reportedly expressed displeasure that despite better infrastructure Doordashan is not able to compete with the pvt channels nor able to increase its TRP. It is heard that he said that regional kendras contribution should be more. According to sources there was no serious discussion about the shortage of staff at various levels, service matters and other related issues. Officers from Prasar Bharati, MIB and regional kendras were present.
