Why has the newly appointed Chief Secretary in J&K Dr Sajjan Singh Yadav not joined yet?
Sajjan Singh Yadav has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. However, he did not join on Monday and the Jammu and Kashmir Government assigned the charge of UT Chief Secretary to Shailendra Kumar, a 1995 AGMUT cadre IAS officer, until the arrival of the appointed new Chief Secretary. According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, he (Shailendra Kumar) will continue to look after the charge of Chief Secretary until Dr Sajjan Singh Yadav, IAS (AGMUT 1995), joins the Union Territory. Dr Yadav, according to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, was appointed new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir with effect from November 1 or the date he assumes charge, whichever is later. However, the J&K bureaucracy is discussing why Dr Yadav is not joining immediately, after the retirement of incumbent Chief Secretary.
