Why Singh was suddenly moved from ACS Home to ACS RD&PR in Rajasthan?

The grapevine in Jaipur is that Rohit Kumar Singh IAS (1989) was a tough Home Secretary and was against excessive phone tapping and unnecessary surveillance. Hence, the politically pliant Police top brass was getting jittery. In a politically deft move, CM Gehlot has decided to use his administrative acumen in the the otherwise politically important Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department which is likely to go to a Minister from the Sachin Pilot camp.
