If the Government of India goes by seniority then Ms Smita Nagaraj could be appointed new Chairperson, UPSC in June. If she is appointed, she will remain in the post for less than three months. The present Chairman will retire on June 27 while Ms Nagaraj will retire on September 21, 2023.
