Will Rly increase fare regularly ?

Indian Railways is of the view that revenue should be enhanced and for that some hard steps are required. Among those steps, Railway is likely to implement creeping increase in passengers fares from this month. At a recently held review meeting suggestion was given that the Railway should raise awareness in the public about the need for fare rationalization. Further, stress was given to monetize high traffic websites, advertise opportunities to increase non- tariff revenue. Meeting, which was chaired by the PM, also discussed the pvt sector investments in IR. It is said that during the review, PM was reportedly not happy with the performance of Rlys.
