Will Sonam Wangchuk step in CJP protests again?

Despite stepping back from the CJP protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar to focus on climate work in Ladakh, activist Sonam Wangchuk has issued a severe ultimatum following a massive police crackdown. With Delhi borders sealed and key movement leaders detained, Wangchuk condemned the heavy-handed response as an "undeclared emergency."

Though he initially cited urgent ecological crises to explain his absence, the mass arrests have shifted his stance. Wangchuk explicitly warned that if the detained leaders are not released by Sunday, he will launch another hunger strike or protest march. Having previously endured a grueling fast for the CJP, his return would quickly transform this leadership vacuum into a high-profile national political standoff.
