Mischief being made by CPIOs all over

Section 4 of the RTI Act-2005 relates suo-moto disclosure. As per this Section individual public authorities are expected to upload on the website details of salaries of all its employees. Some of these authorities do not load this information and when you seek details about it from CPIOs, they reply that the information is personal in nature/third party information and cannot be given. Such glaring mischief is being made by the CPIOs all over. They need to be penalized.

Timely disposal of cases

Whoever may be CJI, if his lordship fails to ensure timely disposal of cases from trial courts to SC, like other Judges, it will have no difference.

Post of PrCCIT Mumbai most powerful post
Indeed, Principal CCIT, Mumbai, is the most powerful position considering the budget collection. However, it is to be noted that both Principal Chief Commissioner of Income-Tax and Member, Central Board of Direct Taxes are placed in the Apex scale. So technically, it is not an "elevation" as mentioned by you. However, had it been an elevation from the level of Chief Commissioner of Income-tax (HAG + scale) to Member, CBDT (Apex Scale) would qualify for an elevation in pure terms.

People should use public transport

It is time the vehicle owners in the country realise their social responsibility to the nation by using their vehicles prudently. They should commute by using public transport and pooling. By such measures only we can best the price rise of crude.

RTI reply is not specific

A very good and relevant case in which every CPIO, SPIO, FAA and everyone in contact with RTI should read. In most cases, the RTI reply is not specific and the reference would be made to the website. The websites are clumsy containing information dumped in a random manner from where retrieval is not possible. An applicant cannot be expected to keep searching for the information. If the reply contains specific reference to the page where the information is kept on the website, it would save a large number of unnecessary appeals.

Printout of information available on the website

The appellant has sought information about the competent authority responsible to take action on the alleged irregularities and misuse of funds. The appellant was guided to the website where information is available. The CIC observed that the PIO could not provide the hyperlink where the information is available. The appellant categorically denied the availability of information on the website. The CIC observed that there is no mechanism to check the availability without the PIO’s assistance and directed that the information available on the website can be printed and given to the appellant in the interest of transparency.
Comments
In most cases where the information is available on the website of the organisation, the PIO is not supposed to take a printout and provide it to the applicant. The PIO should provide the specific link of the page rather than giving a vague reply that the information is available on the website of the organisation.

Why a police officer not appointed SO to CP?

It is a good move. A police officer would have his/her bias against other Police Officials and not be able to give objective suggestions to CP.

Will P K face opposition from Cong senior leaders ?

The news that election strategist Prashant Kishor i.e. P K joining the Congress may not be good news for many senior party leaders. The leaders are beginning to fear that now their chair could go. So far they have been successful in getting tickets despite failing to win in the election and they must now be worried about their future. Can party High Command give precedence to P K over established and senior leaders. Many of them must not be happy, especially G-23 members. Apart from this, some party leaders are also mobilizing against P K in the name of preserving the established party ideology. They argue that they cannot keep silent as the reins of the party are being handed over to an outsider in a jiffy, while they worked all their life for the party.

TATA keeps tradition of 50% discount to senior citizens

Honor and respect to our senior citizens starting from Satya Yug to Treta to Dwapar Yug we have followed our culture/tradition and paid respect and regard to our elders or senior citizens. This has to continue in Kali Yug also. We are following the tradition even today to pay respect and regard to elders. Let us call senior citizens. There are various ways to pay respect and honor to our senior citizens. Senior citizens are being treated with respect in many spheres of life including society. They are being given preferential treatment. They deserve it also. Respecting our elders should be a courtesy ingrained in every one of us. Senior citizens have a lifetime of experience. Recently Air India now owned by TATA kept the tradition of giving 50% discount on base fare to senior citizens. Worth praising step by corporate entity.

Country faces shortage of 1515 IAS officers

The data seems to be incorrect. As per the statement 22% are supposed to be on central deputation which works out to 6709 however only 6% are currently on deputation which is approx 1/4 of the sanctioned strength With shortage of only 1515 IAS, where are the rest . Are states holding more?

Is LIC Housing Finance Ltd. a public authority?

The complainant submitted that the requested information has not been provided to him by the LIC Housing Finance Ltd. The respondent submitted that the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay vide Writ Petition No. 2327/ 2009 has already granted stay on applicability of RTI Act to LIC Housing Finance Ltd. vide order dated 18.01.2010 and the matter is sub-judice before the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay. Hence, the information sought cannot be provided to the appellant. The CIC disposed off the complaint..
Comments
A simple issue such as whether or not the LIC Housing Finance Ltd. is a public authority, has been pending before the Hon’ble High Court for more than 12 years. Such inordinate delays would shake the faith of the people in the RTI Act, 2005.

Bring parity among senior officers of various services

Will the Modi Government also bring parity among senior officers of various services as they are now having a common Foundation Course to increase bonhomie? Please give them respect. It is not money which matters or anyone minds. Two year gap and two additional increments at some level and faster empanelment cause a lot of heartburn. Let them also grow and show their potential. All AIS officers must be put on the same pedestal to begin with. Only Modi ji can do it, I am sure.
